Our first Heritage Day in 2022 was a great success, well supported by traditional craftsmen, craftswomen and visitors alike. The weather was kind and the demonstrations were excellent. Louth Beekeepers were in attendance demonstrating the art of skep making (Louise Home) and honey lemonade. Will Hamilton (Landscape Gardener) showed off his stone cutting and lettering skills to great effect. Richard and Sara-Mae Jordan (Heritage Roofing) were demonstrating slate dressing and roofing, they had some very keen youngsters along with several adults. Nicky (now a trustee) was running the tea, coffee and cake department with other members of the Covenham Village Volunteers. Paula (Ted’s Crafty Creations) and Angela (Angela’s Perennial Plants) were running stalls and doing their bit for local wildlife too. Jim Shaw demonstrated arrow making and fletching, Dave Anderson-Price was showing traditional wood jointing methods and Amie Kynchala was on hand to discuss and answer questions on building conservation and training. Finally, a big thank you to Diane Seddon for all of the photographic and video work, not just on this page but throughout the site.
