Saturday June 4th was the day for the St Bartholomew Jubilee celebrations. Our ‘Pop-Up’ Pub, the Skipwyth Arms, did great service, and we even had to get in extra drinks during the afternoon, it was so well supported.

People were saying over and over how nice it was to see inside the church – that they hadn’t been in there since it was formally closed more than 30 years ago.

The band (the B12 Hundreds) played for more than three hours in the afternoon, and were superb.

In other parts of the village, events were also taking place. St Mary’s church put on a lunch for the whole village and games for the children (and adults).. Down at the redecorated, and improved Parish room, was tea, coffee and cake, with a display of photographs from the Cleethorpes Camera Club. There was a fabulous display and sale of plants outside there.

So a huge thank you to everyone who helped to organise the day – it was hard work but completely worth it……
